Wedding Season is here!

2019 is a big year for weddings, I think last years royal wedding must have inspired lots of couples to tie the knot and I am excited for the wedding season ahead as I have so many wonderful Brides this year, all with their own ideas and inspiration. It looks set to be a very busy summer!

Already this year, I have worked with lots of lovely couples to help them achieve their perfect wedding, each one so different and unique but all equally beautiful. This variation from one wedding to the next is what I love so much about my life as a florist, there is never a dull moment when you are working with natures bounty.

Cathryn & Tom at Cain Manor

Cathryn and Tom's wedding was a riot of colour, no whites here, but beautiful blues, oranges, pinks, purples and yellows filled huge arrangements of fresh foliage foraged from the local countryside. I used a mix of roses, delphiniums, camassia's, antirrhinum's, lisanthus, phlox, veronica, sweet peas and celosia as it was the right hot pink ! With acid green euphorbias and alchemilla mollis, to create a bold statement for this wedding, which looked absolutely stunning against the traditional background of Cain Manor in Surrey.

Huge Hydrangea blooms, roses, ranunculus, stocks and lisianthus, with eucalyptus and rosemary were the focus of the bouquets at Ella and Martin's Surrey wedding. The pastel colours worked so beautifully with the blue bridesmaids dresses, I always enjoy seeing how the flowers fit in to the rest of the wedding scheme when I arrive to set up on the day. It is a favourite moment when I deliver the Bride and the Bridesmaids bouquets, there is generally much excitement, lots of wow's and sometimes tears of joy, (which I have to discourage so as not to upset the makeup artist) and a big phew from me, as your wedding bouquet really is quite personal and something I always want to get right. I can then whizz off and get on with the sprinkling of magical fairy flower dust at your venue.

This stylish Surrey wedding featured very modern floral arrangements of whites, blues and silvers that picked up the colours in the Grooms kilt. I used thistles, echeveria's, roses, anemones and freesias which created a unique and memorable bridal bouquet and the other wedding flowers reflected this style so that the whole theme came together to stunning effect.

Becky and Andy at Millbridge Court

Whilst at my first wedding in March for the wonderful Becky and Andy at Millbridge Court, I caught up with one of my lovely Brides from last year with her new husband Tony. Their wedding was on one of the hottest days in June last year at the De Vere Latimer Estate in Chesham, thankfully inside in an air conditioned room ! This wedding was a bit of a family affair, as Tony's cousin Serafina, got married seventeen years ago on the same date, where I had the pleasure of arranging her flowers on a busy day in London. I then arranged Serafina's sister Lulu's wedding flowers a few years later. So a good catch up with the sisters too, along with their lovely mum and dad, Mr & Mrs Baffa.

Pastel pink, lilac and ivory roses teamed with enormous pale pink peonies to create these beautiful hand tied arrangements for Gina and Tony's Buckinghamshire wedding at the end of June last year. They complimented the dusty pink colour of the Bridesmaids dresses perfectly and added an English country style to this stunning venue.
