Weddings

Flowers are so powerful, they can evoke memories, enhance occasions and lift the spirits like nothing else.

Never is this more apparent than at a wedding. A simple venue can become extraordinary, an understated dress can be lifted to make a unique style statement, unforgettable arrangements can create a talking point for years to come.

All of this and more can be achieved with the perfect wedding flowers.

Create your dream wedding with Francesca Sharp Flowers

"I have been creating wedding flowers for nearly thirty years and I love it because every wedding is completely unique.

Couples come to me with their wedding flower ideas and together we work on creating the look and feel that they want to achieve within the budget that they have. I have worked on every type of venue over the course of my career as a wedding florist so whatever you have in mind, I am sure I can design flowers that will both compliment and enhance your space.

Fashions change and colours come and go but beautiful British homegrown flowers never go out of style. My ethos has always been to bring the outside in and make the most of the amazing flowers and foliage that we grow locally here in Britain.

My designs are inspired by seasonal flowers that can be found in the gardens and hedgerows surrounding the wedding venue, I can often be found foraging and I grow most of the flowers that I use myself in my orchard.

Whatever your colour scheme, style and venue, the British countryside will never let you down with its bountiful harvest. Come and visit me in my cutting gardens and lets create your perfect wedding together."

Enhance your Venue

The right flowers can completely transform your wedding venue

Whether you have chosen a traditional countryside church, a remote barn, a village hall or a modern hotel ballroom. Whatever your wedding venue, your choice of flowers can help to turn the ordinary in to something extraordinary.

Most couples choose to transfer the floral arrangements from the ceremony venue to the reception venue so you will need to consider this when deciding on the size and style of your displays. Pew ends could be turned in to table centrepieces, flower arches could be taken from the church entrance to create a backdrop for the top table, pedestal arrangements for the alter could be used to frame the doorway of the reception room. The possibilities are endless.

Using seasonal flowers and foliage can make a huge difference to your wedding budget and the more foliage you use, the less expensive the arrangement. Francesca will advise couples on how to get the most out of your wedding flower budget using local, homegrown or foraged flowers and foliage and using each arrangement more than once during your wedding day can all help to ensure you get the wow factor you desire without sacrificing too much of your budget.

Bouquets & Buttonholes

For many brides, the wedding bouquets and buttonholes are one of the most important elements of the wedding planning because these special arrangements appear in almost every photo and are often the finishing touch to the perfectly planned wedding outfits of both the bride and any bridesmaids or flower girls.

Francesca works with Brides to ensure that the style of the bouquets and buttonholes will suit the wedding theme, compliment the colour scheme and enhance the dresses that they will be paired with. If you have a very structured dress such as a fishtail in a heavy satin then you may wish to opt for a more streamlined bouquet, something with architectural blooms and clean lines. Whereas if your dress is an abundance of ethereal tulle and lace then you may choose a heavily laden hand tied bouquet of scented blooms such as peonies, garden roses and  tumbling foliage from the hedgerows.

Colour is particularly important in the bridesmaids bouquets where the colour of the dresses often dictates the colour palette for both the flowers and the wedding as a whole. You may wish your bridesmaids to have a similar design to your own bouquet, perhaps just a slightly smaller arrangement. Or you could give your bridesmaids a contrasting design, perhaps a bouquet of just one flower such as a hand tied arrangement of gypsophila.

Whatever your style, we will work together to create the bouquet you have always wanted.
